They Say : 2026 GRADUATE ALUMNI EXHIBITION

Spanning nearly three decades of alumni from 1995 to 2025, this exhibition brings together artists working across photography, painting, sculpture, design, art education, interdisciplinary practice, and more. The artists represented here may have studied in different classrooms, studios, and generations, yet they remain connected through a shared history at MassArt.
The exhibition highlights the diversity of paths that emerge from that shared experience. A 1995 graduate and a 2025 graduate stand side by side. MFA artists from Studio Arts, Photography, Sculpture, SIM, Low-Residency, DMI, Art Education, and Architecture occupy the same space. Some artists continue to work within established disciplines, while others move between mediums, professions, and forms of inquiry. Some have spent decades developing their practices, while others are at the beginning of new chapters.
Rather than focusing on a single theme, They Say considers the relationships that emerge when works from different generations and disciplines are brought together. The exhibition invites viewers to notice unexpected points of overlap between artists whose experiences and approaches may differ significantly.
The works in this exhibition do not seek to arrive at a single conclusion. Instead, they create a space for multiple perspectives to exist alongside one another. Through their proximity, the works open up conversations across time, medium, experience; and we listen to what they say.
