Dennis Svoronos

MFA ’19 Fine Arts 3D

Visiting Lecturer / Adjunct Faculty

In a culture increasingly divided by media, beliefs and politics, Come Together attempts to push back against the progressively extreme, reactionary conversation surrounding our contemporary American experience. Replying to capital insurrections, domestic terrorism and political assassinations, Svoronos posits a moment of quiet intimacy that brings viewers together; where communication and collaboration is essential to the art experience and our differences and disagreements no longer matter.

Come Together intends to create a sense of curiosity and discovery with the work – as well as between viewers- to build community, even if brief, in what is one of the most fractured moments in world history.

Dennis Svoronos’ work exists between art and engineering; it is inspired by the modern world in motion. He uses his sculpture to reflect this environment charged with electricity, spectacle and information. He uses our common language of the 21st century: electronics, robotics and interactive objects, to build connections between the viewers and the work. In a society fractured by technology, Dennis uses it to bring us together.
