MFA ’19 Fine Arts 3D

In the tradition of sculptural commemoration, the bust is used to celebrate and commemorate prominent, powerful and significant figures. Missing Persons contends with this tradition and turns it inside out; it is a bust in the negative and not individually specific. Missing Persons is a commemoration of loss – those gone, removed, lost, displaced or misplaced – a remembrance of all numerous and nameless persons who have left a gaping chasm in their absence.

Dennis Svoronos is a Boston-based sculptor whose work has been shown nationally and internationally.
