My work has always been a tribute to all the wonderful Sikh women I grew up around. Through them, I learned how to fearlessly celebrate my own femme queer self, and make space for representation of identities that share the same worlds as mine. From a very young age, the femme space, for me, represented freedom, a space to grow and a place for endless possibilities.

Sikh Femmes in Sick Fashion is a limited edition folio print set consisting of twenty serigraphs, featuring a cast of Sikh models clothed in some of the most dynamic voices in fashion. This project is a celebration of “femme” identity within queer culture regardless of gender expression, and clothing as a form of queer joy and self-expression. Started as a small twenty-four page zine in 2017 titled “Sikh Women in Sick Fashion,” this project is an gender-expansive extension of the initial idea, and continues to make an attempt to create an outlet to see more queer Sikhs represented not only in fashion, but in contemporary world culture.
