Visit – MassArt x SoWa

460C Harrison Avenue runs a full block between Harrison Avenue and Albany Street in Boston’s South End SoWa arts district. MassArt x SoWa is located at the Albany Street end of the building, directly between Rotch Playground and the SoWa Parking Lot at 75 Thayer Street.
The nearest MBTA subway station is Back Bay Station. The SL5 Silver Line Route is the nearest public transit stop.

The 324 Albany St Parking lot is the nearest to the gallery directly across Albany street from the gallery under the Route 93 overpass, and is charged at a flat rate of $2.50 / ½ hr, with a maximum charge of $20/day.
Additional lot parking is available in the SoWa Gallery District at 274 Albany and 500 Harrison.
*Some SoWa Parking is unavailable on Sundays, May through October, for the SoWa Open Market.
There is limited metered parking around the SoWa area on Albany St. and Harrison Ave.
Parking may be paid by card or ApplePay only, except on First Fridays (see below).
SoWa First Fridays: All lots are open to the public after 5pm on the first Friday of each month, including the 75 Thayer Street lot directly outside the 460C door, usually reserved for tenants and loading/unloading. The special flat rate for First Friday parking is $10/cash only.

MassArt x SoWa is open to all.
Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Please do not touch the artwork, unless a printed label indicates that the work is interactive and meant to be touched.
Flash photography, tripods, monopods, drones, and selfie sticks are not allowed at any time in the gallery.

Except in the cases of artworks with a “NO PHOTOGRAPHY” and/or “NO VIDEOGRAPHY” label, we do encourage visitors to photograph the work (without flash!)

MassArt x SoWa does not accept unsolicited art submissions or exhibition proposals. We are always seeking to build community with new artists from in and outside of the MassArt community, for collaboration and special projects. Please connect with us on social media or in the gallery!
MassArt x SoWa conducts annua+l calls for proposals for alumni curatorial projects. Curatorial project proposals are open to all MassArt Graduate Programs alumni, from all masters-level programs in Fine Arts, Design, and Art Education, regardless of graduation year.
MassArt x SoWa conducts regular calls for submissions to our Annual Juried Alumni Exhibition (open to all graduate alumni, regardless of program or year of graduation). Our Design Biennial (odd-numbered years) is open to alumni, current students, faculty, and staff of our graduate and certificate programs in design: DMI, MDES, MArch, and certificates in Communication, Furniture, and Fashion Design as well as Digital Media.

MassArt x SoWa is accessible to mobility devices and strollers.
Gallery benches and stools are situated at all media works with a runtime of over five minutes and portable lightweight stools are also available.
While our interior doors do not feature power assist, our gallery attendants will be happy to assist you.
Childcare items, including strollers, diaper bags, and infant feeding supplies are welcome.
Bottle and breastfeeding are permitted in all spaces
Our gallery texts (artist statements and bios, curatorial statements, other supporting texts) are always available digitally on our website, allowing for personalized interaction including translations and shifts to text sizes.
