My practice is daily. It is about process and tactility, for my hands are how I interact with and encounter the world. The labors of making demand my full attention while the rest of the world seems to just fade away, allowing me to be in the moment with my materials and my imagination. I embrace the complex components of materials for they remind me that I am human, deeply flawed and in constant flux, and so should be my art. My work requires mishaps, for it is the only way my practice will continue to change and grow. My practice is not about producing objects. It is the making itself that provides balance and peace in my life. I survive because I am a chronic maker.
