Michael J. Ricciuti

MFA ’12 Architecture

I am inspired by the physical world around me and the way light and shadow tend to change our impression of that world. I try to find those parts of our environment that we may not always see. I would like to think that I can set out in the morning and find just what I am looking for, but I cannot; it just happens. That’s why I try to carry my camera with me everywhere that I go. I am interested in finding new ways of looking at our everyday world. I am drawn in equal measure to large and small subjects. I try to find the space between the documentary and the abstract where interesting things tend to happen.
