Zoë Watts

MFA ’24 Fine Arts 3D

My work addresses the complexities of acculturation and displacement with the intent of reimagining belonging and identity as I unpack growing up Chinese in a white family in the American South. I heavily reference ancient Chinese pantheon and folklore in my ceramic sculptures and block prints which are inspired by Southern cryptids, wildlife, and landscape.
